About Carol River, LMT, CIIM
Carol has been serving the Portland community as a licensed massage therapist since 1996. Soon after opening her massage practice in the Hollywood district of NE Portland, she realized her desire to expand her services to budding families. Carol attended an infant massage instructor training in 1997 and was hooked. She has passionately been educating parents in the art of infant massage/touch communication for many years. She added in prenatal/postpartum massage and craniosacral therapy for newborns/infants and adults in 1999. That same year Carol began attending births as a doula to support gentle, aware birthing of babies and families. Carol recently completed the Itsy Bitsy Yoga facilitator training and has added this to her class offerings. Carol has been fascinated with Human Development and has studied prenatal and early childhood development for many years.
Watch for even more services and classes in late 2008. Carol will be attending a Hypnobabies childbirth education instructor training in July and will begin offering classes soon after. Carol is also developing fertility support classes, which will include SoulCollage® art, journaling, meditation, gentle yoga, and mindful and heartfelt discussions.
Carol offers services for all stages of life with a special emphasis on:

- subsequent pregnancies after loss / healing after loss
- prenatal
- postpartum
- birth
- infancy and early family development
Whether during infancy/early parenting or at the middle or later stages of life, or anywhere in between, Carol can offer support as you traverse the river of life.
